While in Portland, I walked by the original Voodoo Doughnut and thought what a crazy concept for a doughnut shop, a year later we were asked to work on their new location at CityWalk. This was a great project with a retro feel, meaning there was going to be a lot of exposed neon. We also fabricated multiple signs inside the store, but the real kicker was a large doughnut monster to be used as a photo op! The monster was hand sculpted in foam, then hard coated with fiberglass and finished off with multiple layers of gelcoat. The finished piece was a big hit and well received as evident by all of the guests who take photos with it each day!
